Cheesy Chicken Sausage Panini

Easy and Delicious Game Day Lunch

Cheesy Chicken Sausage Panini
This panini comes together so fast that I added it to my quick game day lunch menu. In-fact, I do nothing to make this delicious. Johnsonville Italian Three-Cheese Chicken Sausage does all the hard work for me. This sausage already has mouth-watering blend of many of my favorite Panini accompaniments - three kind of cheeses - Mozzarella, Romano, and Parmesan cheese, delicious chicken flavored with traditional Italian herbs and spices. Just add a little bit of ketchup and slightly caramelized sweet onions, and you can get delicious game day lunch item, ready in no time.

Use traditional panini press or simply toast bread with all ingredients on flat hot iron skillet. Cheese starts oozing out from sausage and make this panini a flavorful Italian experience in your mouth.

Serve it with some pickle and chips on the side and enjoy the game this Sunday!

Ingredients

Directions

  • 1. Slice onion into thin moon slices. Slice all sausage into half. Heat 1/2 tbsp oil in a pan, add two sausage and 1/2 of sliced onions and let them sear untouched for 2-3 minutes until sausage are caramelized and onion also starting to brown a bit. Turn the sausage and onion once and leave'em again for 2-3 minutes. Cheese will ooze out from sausage at this time. Season onion with little bit salt and black pepper and remove from heat.
  • 2. Heat Iron skillet or Panini Skillet. Layer the sausage and onion in rolls with desired amount of ketchup, place rolls on the hot skillet and cover with panini press or with some aluminium cover brick. Flip the sandwiches, press them down, and cook for about 2 minutes, until golden brown. In meantime, saute the other half of onion and sausage and repeat the step 1 to make the rest of panini. Serve hot with potato chips and pickle on the side. Enjoy! Additional Notes: If making bigger batch, as your sandwiches finish in the panini press, keep the rest of'em warm in preheat oven (at 250 F)
